Mexicans have a true love for beer; we are among the people who drink it the most in the world. On the other hand, we are also one of the countries with the worst reading rates.
The opportunity to create a positive change appeared in alliance with the Cámara de Cerveceros de México, the body in charge of uniting the most important producers of this beverage nationwide.

We needed to use the passion for beer in Mexico to promote a taste for reading and encourage our public to take up this habit.

Contemporary Mexican writers joined their talents to create 10 different short stories whose common protagonist was beer and how the culture created around it catalyzed stories of different genres.

The result was Relatos de Malta, a book edited to cultivate reading and to grow the love for beer. On top of that, it is printed on paper created with the leftover barley used in the brewing of this beverage.

The cover, as well as the illustrations that accompanied the publication, were created by Argentine artist Liniers.

Relatos de Malta was distributed nationwide in bookstores, and was officially launched at the Guadalajara Book Fair, the most important in Mexico, uniting one of the most popular things in the country, beer, with a new love among Mexicans: reading.
