Ten years ago Spotify arrived in our country and who would have thought that Mexicans would turn this platform into the mecca of streaming worldwide.
This achievement demanded a celebration to rise to the occasion, starting with a venue of iconic magnitudes: Museum of Modern Art.
Located in the heart of Mexico City, the MAM has been spreading culture since 1964, so how did we make it the perfect setting to celebrate a decade of Spotify in Mexico?
By turning Spotify's history into an art exhibition. Ten sculptural pieces, each inspired by milestones of the platform, mimicking its invaluable permanent collection:
A giant deconstructed monolith representing Mexico City as #1 in worldwide streamings; the light emitted by minimalist neon figures symbolizing a new genre Spotify introduced to the music collection: sad sierreño; or a monument playing with perspectives, dedicated to Spotify's initiatives to amplify emerging female and male composers, among other artworks.
And what would this museum to the history of Spotify be without the celebration it deserves? In front of key people from the music industry, media, and the brand's global team, Mexico's most iconic artists collaborated for the first time on a single stage.
Spotify completed its art installation by interpreting its logo on a dance floor, DJ booth, stage, and décor that complemented the guest experience.
This is how we let the whole country and the world know which platform continues to set the pace in global streaming.
